Meet Kat! Owner of Lice to Meet You!

Hi! I’m Kat — wife, mom of two boys, preschool & Pre-K teacher, and the owner of Lice To Meet You Co.

I’ve called Colorado home since 2011. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management and Policy and spent nearly seven years working in public recreation before making the move to Colorado. Today, I’m a full-time teacher at a local Christian Early Childhood Learning Center, where I get to do what I love most — work with children and help them feel safe, supported, and cared for.

Outside of work, I’m all about family. We love sports, traveling, Hawaii, hunting for sea glass, and having game nights together.

Why lice treatment?

Lice To Meet You Co. actually started because of my two best friends. For the past 12 years, I’ve watched them work in the cosmetology and lice-treatment industry. I always found their work fascinating, but for a long time, it simply didn’t fit the timeline of my family, career, and life.

Now, the timing feels right — and what was once simply something I found interesting has become something I’m truly passionate about.

There is so much stigma, embarrassment, and fear surrounding lice. I want to help change that.

Lice are uncomfortable. They are frustrating. But they are not something to be terrified of — and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

As a mom and someone who has spent years working with children, I understand how quickly a lice discovery can turn into stress for the entire family. My goal is to bring education, reassurance, patience, and a little bit of humor to an experience that nobody really wants to have.

A little extra comfort for little ones

One of the things I’m most excited about is being able to make treatment a little less scary for children.

I’ve spent years learning how to connect with kids, earn their trust, keep them engaged, and help them feel comfortable when something feels unfamiliar or overwhelming. That ability to connect and calm children is something I consider one of my greatest strengths.

Instead of taking your child somewhere that may feel unfamiliar or intimidating, I come to you. Your child gets to stay in their own home, in their own space, surrounded by the things that make them comfortable.

And yes — there will be fidgets, distractions and plenty of patience along the way.

My hope is that when I leave, you feel a little lighter, your child feels proud of themselves, and lice feel a whole lot less scary than they did when we started.

I’m so excited to be on this journey and to help families throughout Colorado navigate lice with confidence, compassion, and maybe even a few laughs along the way.
